This duck sculpture is all about serenity.
From the artist, Dale Weiler: I found Virginia statite to be the perfect medium for this sculpture. To enhance the feel of serenity in the piece, I had the wood duck nestled in oak leaves. I was just following what the stone whispered to me.
One of the special things about American wood ducks is that they generally produce two broods a year. Plus, they have spectacular coloration, making them some of the most beautiful ducks in nature.
