I find the snowy owl to be the most intriguing and mysterious owl species. The thought of it gliding silently and invisibly through falling snow in search of its prey conjures up all kinds of visions.

When I looked into this piece of pure white Yule marble I could clearly see this snowy owl encased inside. It was flying just below the stone’s surface.

Riding The White Wind was donated to Brookgreen Gardens In 2016 to allow visitors to experience the sheer beauty of this bird in flight. The base for the piece is specially designed to flex up and down as the wind hits it, giving the bird a sense of flight movement.
