Helping Kids Fall in Love with Wildlife Through Art

The future of wildlife depends on the next generation.

At Champions for Wildlife, we help children build a lasting love for animals through creative, accessible programs rooted in art and education. By sparking wonder and empathy, we’re growing a generation ready to take action—for the wild world around them. 

We connect K–8 students with wildlife, art, and nature through hands-on learning that starts in the classroom and extends into the outdoors. Our programs include:

  • Nature in Your Backyard brings students outside to explore wildlife right on their school grounds with exploration tools and their own nature journals!

  • Sunshine & Smiles Kits are wildlife-themed art and activity boxes for disadvantaged kids —so they can create, learn, and connect with nature at home.

  • Wild for Art programs teach students through hands-on wildlife education with unique art projects that spotlight a variety of native species.

The more kids learn about wildlife, the more they fall in love, the more they will protect it.

Wild for Red Wolves: Polk County Family Event

We are excited to host our next free family event, Wild for Red Wolves, September 20 at Sunnydale from 10:00am-12:00pm! Why are Red Wolves so important in nature, how do they live, and how can our actions affect these incredible creatures? Kids and their families will learn all about this through a special presentation by our wildlife educators. Participants will get the chance to meet local stone sculptor, Dale Weiler, and create their very own Red Wolves out of clay to take home!
